Abseiling

Abseiling I (Adventure Abseiling Course)

Your road to new adventure starts with this abseiling instructional day!

Our one-day adventure abseiling course is designed for participants with little or no previous experience. Remember - "If you can walk, you can abseil!” We begin the day with a safety briefing and training session using practice abseils at our specially selected abseiling area. The subjects we cover include the fitting of harnesses and the use of descending devices, familiarisation with the important safety procedures and how to use the correct abseiling skills and techniques. The abseils at the practice area also offer a great opportunity for you to develop and work on your own individual abseiling style!

Abseiling a big drop

While we place much emphasis on fun and adventure we will also teach you the important skills you’ll need to go abseiling in safety anywhere!

After a filling mountain lunch we will head off to tackle some more challenging descents. The big abseils are offered on a "challenge by choice" basis and you are free to go as high as you wish! From towering vertical walls to sheer cut overhangs and forward rundowns, the challenge is your choice!

Multi-pitch Abseiling - Boar's Head

The Boar’s Head is one of the most instantly recognisable rock formations in the Blue Mountains.

Boar's slot

This towering solitary rock pinnacle offers a unique and impressive multi-pitch abseiling adventure that can be found no where else! Five pitches of spectacular abseiling starting with a descent through the famous Boar’s Head “slot” and then down on through the “bottleneck” with some exciting free-hangs along the way!

There are two ways to finish The Boar's Head, either continue abseiling and then walk out through some spectacular Blue Mountains forest, or, for a truly memorable experience, climb out on two airy pitches of the most enjoyable Blue Mountains rockclimbing you will ever experience. The climbing encountered on the Boar’s Head route is about grade eight and no specialised climbing shoes are required.
