If you enjoy thrilling Abseiling adventures and want to go one step further then this expedition is for you! This incredible adventure begins with a few warm up and refresher jumps and then we’re off to sample the “Guides Choice” in awesome “BIG” jumps! Every Abseil is designed to give you a seriously good thrill and yes they are breathtaking, come and see! Let the guides look after all the set ups and technical stuff all you have to do is leap in and enjoy the day. The last jump of the day will be from the World famous “Dogface” and afterwards you’ll get to ride the Scenic Railway back to the top. The ultimate Abseiling adventure, No hassles! No hard work! While we place much emphasis on fun and adventure we will also teach you the important skills you’ll need to go abseiling in safety anywhere!
The ASM Advanced Abseiling Course will allow you to learn and develop the important skills and techniques required to participate in more challenging abseiling activities and adventures. If you're into exploring canyons or caves or just want to go abseiling for the sheer fun of it, this course will help you do it! The ASM Advanced Abseiling Course is without rival in technical content and instructional quality. We start with a short review of your existing abseiling skills and knowledge and then proceed to the more advanced instruction.
While there is some theory involved in this one-day course, all the training will take place on the cliffs. If you’re serious about becoming independent on the cliffs, then the ASM Advanced Abseiling Course is a must.
To be awarded the ASM Senior Abseilers Certificate participants must complete both the Advanced Abseiling Course & Improvised Rope Rescue Course. The SAC is ideal for individuals who wish to take a more active role when participating with others in group abseiling activities.
To qualify for the Abseiling Leaders Course, intending participants must have completed a Basic Abseiling Course or alternatively be able to provide evidence of the equivalent experience. The course consists of four days of comprehensive instruction and practical experience. The final day is an assessment day dedicated to a practical and theoretical exam conducted by an ASM Instructor. After the initial training period, the course will remain open in order that the successful course participant may return at anytime for retraining and / or revision. Each successful ASM Abseil Leaders Course participant will receive a statement of attainment from the Australian School of Mountaineering in addition to the standard certificate. Your road to new adventure starts with this abseiling instructional day!
After a filling mountain lunch we will head off to tackle some more challenging descents. The big abseils are offered on a "challenge by choice" basis and you are free to go as high as you wish! From towering vertical walls to sheer cut overhangs and forward rundowns, the challenge is your choice! At the end of the day you will receive the ASM Basic Abseiling Certificate.
