Technical Rope Access Training
The Australian School of Mountaineering can provide individual operators and businesses with training in current WorkCover approved Industrial Rope Access methods as detailed in the Australian / New Zealand standard AS/NZS 4488.1:1997 and Code of Practice adopted by the Industrial Rope Access Association (IRAA) in NSW.
Industrial Rope Access methods are necessary in the work environment where traditional methods for reaching the work site, such as scaffolding or the use of a cherry picker, do not offer viable access solutions. The Australian and New Zealand Standards for Industrial Rope Access require that operators using these methods must be able to demonstrate competence in the use and assembly of equipment for ascending and descending ropes, the selection of suitable anchors and anchor rigging, public protection and incident management and rescue procedures.
